Welcome to our two 1 bedroom apartments in the Cotentin Peninsula just 30 minutes drive from Cherbourg ferry port. They are in the village of Carteret, a quiet location and an ideal starting point for walks or drives in the countryside, but still only 15 minutes stroll to the beach . The yacht marina is literally on your doorstep and you have a great choice of quality restaurants all within walking distance.  Marina View apartments are idealy situated to explore the Normandy region of France.

Each apartment has a twin bedroom that can be made into a double. They have large modern bathrooms, kitchen, lounge and dining areas.

If you do not wish to use your car  but come over as foot passengers then we will meet the boat from the ports of Cherbourg, Dielette, Carteret and Granville for a small charge. Contact us for more information.

Distances

   * Carteret's twin town Barneville is 5 minutes away by car.

   * Portbail, a picturesque fishing village, is a few km south of Carteret at the mouth of the river Ollonde.

   * Both Bayeux and the D-Day Landing Beaches are within an hour's drive of Carteret.

   * Ferries to Jersey (22km southwest of Carteret) run from Carteret's Gare Maritime or Portbail April-October.

Travel

Carteret is an easy 30km drive from Cherbourg ferry port along the quiet D650. It is also possible to drive from Caen or Le Havre. The ferry crossing from Poole or Portsmouth takes approx 2 hours by catamaran and 4 hours by standard ferry crossing. Dinard Airport is a 2 hour drive away and Flybe operate flights from Southamton to Cherbourg.

Coast/Beach

Carteret's spectacular beaches are a 15 minute walk from the apartment, they have been awarded the European Blue Flag for water quality and offer great stretches of shallow water for youngsters. A walk around the headland for around 20 minutes will take you to mile upon mile of deserted sands on the Plage de la Vieille Eglise (can also be reached by car).  In the opposite direction, Barneville-Plage is popular with French families and there are plenty of water sports on offer.
